Rain clears eastern Scotland then dry with sunny spells for most

A wet start to today in northeast and eastern Scotland. Drier for other areas of the country with some sunny spells in western England, Wales and Ireland. a few showers over western coasts and hills as well. The rain clears from Scotland by mid morning.

This afternoon is bright for many areas with sunny spells. A few showers over western coasts and hills. Dry for most other areas with some reasonable spells of sunshine developing. Feeling mild again with light to moderate west to southwest winds.

Tonight will be dry with some clear spells. Some cloud drifting onto western coasts and hills with a few showers here. Rain and stronger winds in western areas of Ireland.
